Paloschi leaves Swansea for Italy return
Swansea City have confirmed that striker Alberto Paloschi has left the club to join Serie A side Atalanta for £6 million.
Paloschi signed for the Swans in January in an exciting £8 million switch from Chievo Verona, however only went on to make 10 appearances for the Welsh club, netting two goals – against Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City respectively.
The 26-year-old now joins Serie A outfit Atalanta, who finished 13th in the Italian top-flight last season. Despite a mid-table conclusion, Atalanta struggled for goals last term with Argentinian Alejandro Gomez their top-scorer with just seven goals.
Edoardo Reja made it clear he needed some more firepower ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, and now has got it with the signing of Paloschi.
With another striker exiting the Liberty Stadium, it now leaves just Bafetimi Gomis Swansea’s only recognised striker. Francesco Guidolin will now be hoping to acquire one or two forwards in the summer transfer window to combat Paloschi and Eder’s departures.
