Swansea linked with Wales full-back
Swansea City are interested in signing Wales right-back Chris Gunter, according to the Mirror.
Gunter – who’s been ever-present for Reading since his £2.5 million move from Nottingham Forest in 2012 – is looking to return to the Premier League, having previously played in just one season in the English top-flight.
Swansea, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa are reportedly looking to acquire the 26-year-old this summer, with Gunter having a release clause in his Reading contract for just £1 million.
The 70-capped Welshman started his career at Cardiff City, before moving to Tottenham Hotspur for £2 million. He endured a disappointing spell at Spurs, though, and eventually transferred to Nottingham Forest, where he made over 130 appearances.
His latest club is Reading, but after three impressive performances for Wales at Euro 2016, Gunter’s attracting a lot of admirers.
With the Swans supposedly after a new right-back, could it mean that Kyle Naughton is heading out of the Liberty Stadium for the 2016/17 Premier League campaign?
