Swans join race for FC Twente star man
Swansea City are battling with Ajax for the signature of FC Twente attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech, according to reports in the Netherlands.
Ziyech scored 17 goals and assisted 12 from centre midfield in the Eredivisie last season, which is some achievement for the 23-year-old.
A Morrocan international, Ziyech is currently valued at around £8 million by Twente, which is a very reasonable price for a player with outstanding potential.
Despite his potential, Ziyech is actually producing the goods now, and could well be lined-up to challenge for the Swans’ first-team, if he was to come to the Liberty Stadium.
The Moroccan has previously been linked with moves to Southampton, Leicester, Middlesbrough and Celtic, however it’s now the Swans and Ajax who are looking to acquire the former-Netherlands under-21 international.
With Gylfi Sigurdsson firmly Swansea’s first-choice attacking midfielder, Ziyech would have his work cut out to overtake the Icelandic star in South Wales if he did sign. Although, competition is always good, right?
