Dyer ruled out of action for two months
Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer has been ruled out of action for up to two months, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
The start of the 2016/17 season hasn’t gone to plan so far for Dyer, who returned to South Wales from Leicester City looking to regain his regular spot on the right wing.
However, despite an impressive pre-season with the Swans, the 27-year-old has failed to make a Premier League appearance during the club’s opening four fixtures.
Modou Barrow has been preferred on the right hand side by manager Francesco Guidolin, though this could be down to Dyer’s ankle problems.
The Englishman is set to have an operation on his ankle to remove extra bone growth, and will look to return to the Liberty Stadium in time for the busy winter period.
Swansea face Southampton, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal in the coming weeks and will now look towards Barrow, Wayne Routledge and Jefferson Montero as the main three options on the wings.
