Guidolin not short of interest following Swans sacking
Former Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has not been short of interest from club’s around Europe, following his departure from South Wales.
Guidolin was sacked as Swansea boss after a run of seven games without a victory, but is still regarded as a good coach, having comfortably kept a struggling Swans side in the Premier League last season.
The Italian has since been linked to several managerial jobs. Guidolin was highly tipped to succeed Frank de Boer at Serie A giants Inter Milan, but just missed out to ex-Lazio coach Stefano Pioli.
Now, 61-year-old Guidolin is also being linked with a move to La Liga outfit, Real Betis.
Betis are struggling in the Spanish top-flight, losing four of their last six league games under former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet. Therefore, reports claim Poyet is on the verge of the sack, and that Guidolin is a firm favourite to takeover at Jefferson Montero’s old employers.
Whatever happens, the Swansea fans all wish Francesco all the best for the future.
