Gomis future to be decided ‘soon’
Currently on loan at Ligue 1 club Marseille, Bafetimbi Gomis has proved slightly more popular in France than he did at Swansea.
With sixteen goals in twenty-four games, the French international has scored three more goals this season than he had in sixty-four appearances over two seasons.
Gomis made his return to the Marseille bench this weekend after being ruled out through injury just over a month ago, and the club’s president has seemingly hinted at making a permanent move for the striker.
Speaking to French TV programme Canal Football Club, the President of Olympique de Marseille said”
Gomis is doing an exceptional season. We will soon see what happens for him in the coming months
It’s looking more and more like Gomis will not play another game in Swansea colours, even after hitting the ground running in his home country this season.
The Frenchman has just one more year left on his contract, so will likely be sold on for a minimal fee at the end of the season.
The Swans’ are still paying a large chunk of Gomis’ lucrative salary, so to get him off our books for good will certainly benefit all parties.
