Chadli is said to be close to the top of Paul Clement’s transfer targets in this summer transfer window, and has been on Swansea’s radar for a number of years.
The Swans will look to spend a club-record fee for the 35-capped Belgium international, if or when, Gylfi Sigurdsson departs the Welsh club.
£50 million would be enough to the Swans cash in on Sigurdsson, leaving a hefty amount of cash available to plug the gaps in a few key areas of the Swansea City squad.
A winger is desirable for Clement, as will be an attacking midfielder if Sigurdsson does leave. Chadli can play as either a winger or attacking midfielder, but predominantly plays out wide.
The 27-year-old started his career at Apeldoorn, before making his name at Eredivisie outfit FC Twente. From there, he earned himself a move to Tottenham Hotspur where he impressed, however failed to assert himself as a regular starter at White Hart Lane.
Last summer, in search for starting first-team football, Chadli signed for West Brom for a club-record £13 million and started brilliantly at The Hawthorns, netting twice and assisting twice on his debut.
Despite his performances, like West Brom’s, slightly lowering in the second half of last season, it’s still evident that the Belgian is a good player and would be a great fit for the Swans. Is he worth £20 million though? Let us know!
