22-year-old midfielder Josh Sheehan has left Swansea City for League Two outfit Newport County.
Sheehan, who joined the Swans’ academy when he was just 10, has now sealed a permanent move to Rodney Parade, having impressed during a successful loan spell there in 2016/17.
The Welsh Under-21 international struggled to break into the Swansea first-team but has shown his quality for the Under-23s and out on loan in League Two with Yeovil Town and Newport respectively.
Sheehan was a key performer for the Exiles last season, netting seven times in 25 appearances, gaining a solid reputation in the fourth division following a handful of tremendous goals as County survived thedrop.
Despite a few injury worries halting his progress in the last couple of years, this is seen as a great signing for Newport and everyone will be wishing Sheehan the best as he looks to regain regular first-team football.
