Swans duo given the all-clear for Liverpool clash
Swansea City duo Mike van der Hoorn and Renato Sanches have returned to training and are ready for selection ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash with Liverpool, says the club’s official website.
Dutch defender van der Hoorn was taken off the field at St James’ Park last week with a hamstring worry, however after taking fitness tests this week there is now no injury concern for the former Ajax man.
This will come handy to Carlos Carvalhal with van der Hoorn impressing in the last few months, putting in a number of tidy shifts at the back. And the Swans will have to be rock solid in defence to keep out a rampant Liverpool attack in a few days time.
Meanwhile, Renato Sanches has returned to training following his hamstring injury obtained in the FA Cup stalemate against Wolves at the Molinuex two weeks ago. The young midfielder was substituted before half-time having trouble with his hamstring after unleashing a powerful shot from 40-yards out.
Tammy Abraham is on his way back to fitness, although it’s doubtful that he’ll be ready for a starting spot at the Liberty Stadium against the Reds. Angel Rangel remains sidelined.
