Preview: Swansea City vs. Southampton
It’s almost time for another Tuesday night floodlit game, and under the Liberty Stadium floodlights this week are Southampton.
It’s been a while since the last match preview, in fact, I think the last one was actually for a pre-season friendly.
Anyway, let’s get into it.
Southampton currently sit in 11th place, nine points ahead of Swansea, and are coming off a 5-0 thrashing against Arsenal in the FA Cup on the weekend.
Injuries and suspensions…
Swansea: Ki Sung-Yeung and Leroy Fer picked up slight injuries during the Swans’ 3-2 win against Liverpool, but should be available to compete in tomorrow’s game. Jefferson Montero should also be fit to play.
New signing Luciano Narsingh is set to be selected.
Leon Britton, Oli McBurnie and Modou Barrow will not be fit to play tomorrow. Neil Taylor is suffering with a broken cheekbone, so he will not play. He will likely be finishing his move to Aston Villa as well.
Southampton: Jay Rodriguez, James Ward-Prowse and Sofiane Boufal are all set to undergo late fitness tests for tomorrow’s game to determine whether they will play or not.
Virgil van Dijk and Charlie Austin will miss tomorrow night’s game.

It’s been a while since I last made a score prediction, I think it may have in fact been last season! However, I’ll say a 2-1 Swansea win. Llorente and Sigurdsson to score for the Swans.
