Swans’ sign brother of former Chelsea star Eidur Gudjohnsen
The transfer window may be closed, but the Swans’ have made an addition to their youth-team ranks with the signing of sixteen year-old Arnor Borg Gudjohnsen from Icelandic side Breidablik.
The signing was announced earlier today on BBC Wales Sport’s Twitter account:
Twitter: Swansea City have signed Arnor Borg Gudjohnsen, the 16-year-old half-brother of former Chelsea and Barcelona strike… https://t.co/V81V3v7xYg (@BBCWalesSport)
As mentioned in the tweet, the midfielder is the half-brother of former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnson. He is also the son of former Icelandic international Arnor Gudjohnson.
Sixteen-year-old Gudjohnson has featured once for Breidablik’s youth team this season, coming off the bench in a 4-0 loss to Ajax in the Uefa Youth Cup.
Icelandic website Visir have reported that Gudjohnson had been on trial at the Swans’ for the past week and has impressed enough to earn himself a permanent move.
The midfielder will join up with the Swans in the Summer when the transfer window opens, where I’m sure he will be welcomed with open arms by his compatriot Gylfi Sigurdsson.
