Swansea City duo Gerhard Tremmel and Marvin Emnes will leave the club this summer when their contracts expire.
Tremmel signed for the Swans back in 2011 ahead of the Wesh club’s first Premier League season, however it was only until the 2012/13 where we first got to see him in action at the Liberty Stadium.
With an injury to Michel Vorm, the German goalkeeper came in and was a solid replacement for Michael Laudrup in the successful 2012/13 campaign, where Tremmel featured in every game of Swansea’s winning League Cup run.
Meanwhile this brings an end to Emnes’ third stint as a Swans player. The first was in 2010 when he famously netted the winner in a South Wales Derby against Cardiff in the Championship, for which the Jack Army will always fondly remember him for.
The Dutchman then rejoined the Swans on loan in January 2014, before making his move from Middlesbrough to South Wales permanent in the summer of 2014.
Since then he’s spent time away on loan at Blackburn Rovers and has proved to be a big hit at Ewood Park.
Also leaving Swansea City this summer is Liam Shephard and Owain Jones who were both at Yeovil Town on loan this season, as well as Josh Vickers, Tom Dyson and Tom Holland. Good luck in the future to these, now, former Jacks!
