Swansea City are ‘close’ to signing right-back Santiago Arias and striker Wilfried Bony as they look to strengthen before next week’s transfer deadline.
Speaking on ‘The Transfer Centre’ tonight, Sky Sports believe deals are close with the two players, both valued around £12 million.
Arias has been a target since January, with the Swans looking to improve the right-back position with Kyle Naughton and Angel Rangel currently in that area.
The Colombian international has been impressing in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven during the past few years, but is set to depart after claiming “it’s time to leave” in a recent interview with De Telegraaf. He said:
It’s time to leave.
I feel strong, learned a lot in the Eredivisie. Now it’s a good time to take a next step.
I have to wait, it’s not my decision.
Meanwhile, a reunion with former fan favourite Bony is on the cards, with Manchester City keen to offload him after an unsuccessful two years at the Etihad.
A fee of around £12 million is being talked about; less than half of what City bought him for in January 2015, and the same price the Swans paid Vitesse Arnhem for the Ivorian back in 2013.
